For one of our clients, a leading provider of innovative solutions within the chemical industry, we are currently looking for a
Business Finance Controller (f/m)
for our clients Innovation & Technology Department (InnoTech) at the Innovation Headquarters in Linz (Upper Austria).
In this versatile position you are responsible for oversight of all finance, controlling as well as financial reporting activities relating to the InnoTech department. The position is an integral part of the InnoTech management team with the main objective to support the Senior Vice President InnoTech in driving the innovation performance as well as to work closely with the senior InnoTech leadership team, their direct reports and other departments to achieve greater innovation success of the company. The underlying objective is to extract most of the innovation value in short and medium term from the R&D spent and ensure the Return on
Innovation is quantified as much as possible and as such reported to all stakeholders.
Areas of responsibility include amongst others:
Lead all day-to-day finance activities for InnoTech to support effective decision making processes in terms of target setting, budgeting and controlling.
Manage, review and track the performance of the InnoTech business from profitability to capital employed. Analyse financial data and conduct regular presentations in InnoTech management meetings.
Assume responsibility for controlling of innovation projects business cases and the overall innovation projects portfolio. The activities in this area include working closely with the Innovation Portfolio Manager.
Oversee budget and reporting validating compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements as well as deliver accurate and timely reporting and controlling of InnoTech business performance.
Provide business support to the Senior Vice President and acting as business partner for the respective management team.
Assess implications of decisions on P&L, balance sheet and cash flow of the InnoTech businesses and provide support to optimise.
Lead support processes and contribute to core financial processes as well as lead and participate in improvement projects in finance and business.
Experience, knowledge and skills required:
Bachelor degree in finance, accounting or economics or adequate additional job experience
8 years of relevant experience including data interpretation and validation, performance management and controlling, forecasting, planning as well as business modelling
Demonstrated leadership skills via projects and proven communication & presentation skills in German and English
Following Austrian law regulations our client offers, reflecting your experiences, skills and competencies, competitive compensation based on the collective labour agreement chemical industry starting at EUR 65.079,56 annual gross salary and is willing to pay considerably more based on your experience and background.
